A WhatsApp Business Solution Provider (BSP) is a company Meta allows to connect other businesses to the WhatsApp Business Platform. It onboards you through Meta's embedded signup and usually gives you software such as an inbox, templates and automation. Meta's developer documentation groups these providers as Solution Partners, Tech Providers and Tech Partners.
A WhatsApp Business Solution Provider, or BSP, is the company that stands between your business and Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. It onboards your number, gives you a way to use the API without building your own software, and supports you when something goes wrong. WhatsApp's business site uses the term Business Solution Provider; Meta's developer documentation uses more specific partner types.
Types of WhatsApp partners
| Partner type | What Meta says |
|---|---|
| Solution Partner | A Meta Business Partner that provides a full range of WhatsApp Business Platform services to clients. Has a credit line it can extend to clients. |
| Tech Provider | Can also offer full services, alone or with another partner, but is not a Meta Business Partner. No credit line. |
| Tech Partner | A Tech Provider that is, or is eligible to become, a Meta Business Partner. |
All three types have access to Meta's direct support, and all can onboard clients through embedded signup, which Meta describes as the main onboarding method. Embedded signup creates your WhatsApp assets automatically and gives the provider's app access to them.
What a provider usually does for you
- Connects your phone number to the API through embedded signup, including coexistence if it supports it.
- Gives you an inbox for your team, a template builder and broadcast tools.
- Handles webhooks, so incoming messages and delivery receipts reach your software.
- Offers automation, chatbots or a CRM, depending on the product.
- Explains how message charges are paid, since billing arrangements differ by partner.
How to choose a provider
- Official status. Make sure it uses Meta's official platform, not an unofficial tool that automates the consumer app.
- Message pricing. Meta charges per delivered message by category and country. Ask how the provider bills message charges and whether it shows the cost before you send, and check Meta's own rates in Meta's rate card.
- What you actually need. Some providers focus on broadcasts and chatbots, others on sales: leads, assignment, follow-ups and reports.
- Coexistence. If you want to keep the WhatsApp Business app on the same number, check support.
- Support. Check the language, channel and hours of support.
How salestrack helps
salestrack CRM by Dentobees connects to the official WhatsApp Business Platform as a Meta Tech Provider, through Meta's embedded signup, and supports coexistence. It is built for sales teams: chats become leads with an owner, a pipeline stage and the ad they came from. Message charges come from a prepaid WhatsApp wallet, and the app shows the exact rate and the cost of each broadcast before you send. To compare options, see our comparison pages.

How do I become a WhatsApp Business Solution Provider?
