"Verifying a WhatsApp Business account" usually means Meta business verification. It is done once for your whole Meta business portfolio, not for each WhatsApp number, and it confirms that your business is a real legal entity. It is separate from display name approval and from the blue tick, though both depend on it.

Steps to complete Meta business verification

You need full admin control of the business portfolio. Meta's Business Help Center describes this flow:

1. Open Security Center in Meta Business Suite and click Start verification. If you cannot see Security Center, you probably do not have full control of the portfolio.
2. Enter your legal business name, address, phone number and website. They must match your legal entity exactly. The website should load and use HTTPS.
3. Pick your business if Meta finds a match. If not, say it is not listed and upload official documents.
4. Confirm your connection to the business by email, phone call, text, WhatsApp message or domain verification.
5. Wait for review and watch your notifications. If Meta asks for more information, reply quickly.

Documents and common rejections

Use documents that show your exact legal business name and, where asked, the same address or phone number you typed. In India that is typically a GST registration certificate, certificate of incorporation or Udyam registration. In the UAE and other Gulf markets, a trade licence is the usual choice.

• The name you enter does not match the document. If the certificate says "Sharma Dental Care Private Limited", do not enter "Sharma Dental".
• The document has expired.
• The address or phone number does not match what you entered.
• The confirmation email is a free webmail address instead of one on your website's domain.

Your display name is the name on your WhatsApp number. Meta's documentation says it is reviewed automatically against the display name guidelines when the number reaches a higher messaging limit. Once approved, it can appear at the top of chats and in the chat list. You can change it 10 times in 30 days, and after a change is approved you must re-register the number within 14 days. Keep the name close to your registered or brand name.
