Send through the official WhatsApp Business API, not bulk-sender apps. Message only people who opted in to hear from your business, use approved message templates, stay inside your messaging limit, and keep messages relevant so few people block or report you. Give an easy way to opt out and stop messaging anyone who asks.
Most WhatsApp bans come from two things: sending in bulk from the normal app, and messaging people who never asked to hear from you. WhatsApp's Help Center tells users not to bulk message, auto-message or auto-dial, and says it bans accounts that are reported many times. The official WhatsApp Business API is built for bulk sending, but it has its own rules. Follow them and your number stays healthy.
Why bulk senders get blocked
- Unofficial tools. Browser extensions and "bulk sender" apps that automate the normal WhatsApp app break WhatsApp's rules. WhatsApp detects them with machine learning and user reports.
- No opt-in. Bought, scraped or shared lists produce blocks and reports quickly. WhatsApp's guidance also says not to use phone numbers obtained without consent.
- Too much, too often. The same offer three times a week, to people who forgot they ever enquired, gets reported.
The safe way to send bulk WhatsApp messages
- Use the official API. Connect your number to the WhatsApp Business Platform through a provider or CRM. Messages you start must use templates that Meta has approved.
- Collect real opt-in. Meta requires that people know they are opting in to messages and see your business name. A website form checkbox, a signed form or an IVR flow all work.
- Stay inside your messaging limit. A new business portfolio can reach 250 unique people outside a service window per moving 24 hours. Business verification can take it to 2,000, and it grows from there with good quality. Split big lists across days.
- Segment the list. Send to people for whom the message is relevant: a recent enquiry, a past customer due for a refill, a batch opening for last season's leads.
- Make opting out easy. Add a "Stop offers" button or line to every marketing template. The Business Messaging Policy says you must respect every opt-out request.
- Watch quality. Templates are rated by feedback and read rates. New or low-rated marketing templates can be paced, which means Meta holds part of the send until early feedback comes in.

Quick check before every send
- Everyone on the list opted in to your business, and you know where.
- Opted-out contacts, past blockers and US numbers (for marketing) are removed.
- The template is approved in the right category.
- The list fits inside today's limit, or is split across days.
- Someone is ready to answer replies.
How salestrack helps
salestrack sends bulk WhatsApp broadcasts on the official API. You import contacts from Excel or CSV, build segments by stage, source or city, and pick an approved template. Opted-out contacts are removed automatically, and the app shows the audience size and the exact cost from your prepaid WhatsApp wallet before you send. Replies land in the shared inbox with an owner. See send a broadcast.
Related questions
Can I send bulk WhatsApp messages without saving numbers?
Yes, on the WhatsApp Business API. Approved templates go to any opted-in number without the person saving yours. Broadcast lists in the WhatsApp Business app only reach people who have saved your number.
Is there a trick to send bulk WhatsApp messages without getting banned?
No safe trick exists. WhatsApp's Help Center says not to bulk message or auto-message from the app, and it uses machine learning and user reports to ban accounts. The safe route is the official API with opted-in contacts and approved templates.
How do I send bulk WhatsApp messages from Excel?
Import your Excel or CSV file into a tool that uses the WhatsApp Business API, map the columns to template variables, and send an approved template. Only include people who agreed to hear from your business.
Can my number be restricted on the API?
Yes. If many people block or report your messages, quality drops and Meta can rate limit or restrict you. Meta's error code 131048 means messages were restricted because they were blocked or flagged as spam.
Are bulk WhatsApp messages free?
Not on the API. Meta charges for each delivered template message, by message category and the recipient's country. Its rate card is on the WhatsApp pricing page.
